In the economic region of Medicine Hat-Lethbridge in 2006, 41% of the population (15 years and older) had completed a postsecondary education (university degree, post-secondary certificate or diploma). This is a 47% increase since 1990, the earliest year for which data are available. However, this is 14% below the provincial average.

  3. Between the 1995-1996 school year and the 2005-2006 school year there was an average Alberta Rural College enrolment growth of 4%. For this same period Medicine Hat College saw an enrolment growth of 26% and a 48.9% increase in the number of programs offered.

    Of all the Alberta Community Colleges, Medicine Hat College had the second highest Visa Student enrolment for the 2004-2005 school year.
