We are pleased to share our first annual Central Okanagan Vital Signs Report with you. Vital Signs is an annual check up, conducted by community foundations across Canada, that measures the vitality of our communities, identifies significant trends, and assigns grades in at least ten areas critical to our quality of life.
Who? Central Okanagan Vital Signs has come about through the hard work and dedication of our Board, volunteers, researchers, and the Vital Signs Leadership Group. We are grateful to all our Vital Partners.
What? Vital Signs is an annual check up that is aimed at sparking discussion, inspiring action and bringing about change.
Where? Vital Signs is part of a national initiative coordinated by Community Foundations of Canada in over 15 communities across the country.
Why? To increase the effectiveness of the Central Okanagan Foundation’s grantmaking; Better inform our donors about issues and opportunities;
Engage our residents in community issues and encourage community action. How? Vital Signs is a unique combination of scientific research and public opinion. Vital Signs brings together a broad range of data and publishes it in a reader friendly format. It also engages community at every level from civic leaders to community groups to concerned citizens. Over 400 people told us what they think, providing us with grades that people can relate to.
The Central Okanagan Foundation has been connecting people who care with causes that matter for over 30 years. We are your Community Foundation, assisting individuals, families, corporations and not-for-profit organizations to meet their charitable objectives and address emerging community needs.
Please enjoy our first annual Central Okanagan Vital Signs Report. We hope that Central Okanagan Vital Signs is a catalyst for community awareness, dialogue and action.
